On March 13th, 2010, Bloomington Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls (BHRG) Flatliners kick off their travel season in Rockford, Illinois for a re-match with the Rockford Rage, but this time on the Rage’s home turf. Last season, the Flatliners defeated Rockford at their home opener in Bloomington, and now the Rage is out for revenge!
The Flatliners are BHRG’s WFTDA-sanctioned travel team, and they’re itchin’ to get on the road and show their stuff. With an exciting 2009 season under their belt, these girls are ready to hit the track again.
Are you up for a road trip to the land of Cheap Trick? Come out and support your Bleeding Heartland Flatiners on Saturday, March 13th at the Indoor Sports Center, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd, Rockford, IL [see a map]. Doors open at 6 PM, and the bout begins at 7 PM. Halftime entertainment will feature the Winnebago Dance Team.

No, we can’t bowl on skates, but we would if we could! Please help the Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls in their quest to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters in the 2010 Bowl for Kids’ Sake. Make a donation to a BHRG bowling team or to your favorite participating rolling bowler to help us reach our league goal of $750!
Bowl For Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana’s largest annual fundraising campaign. The campaign culminates in community-wide bowling events in February — parties we hold to thank the members of the community for coming through for the kids. It’s not about the bowling, it’s about taking part in a fun activity to help local kids in need!

BHRG is supporting IU’s “Cram the Container” efforts for Haiti. An enormous cargo container is leaving Bloomington for the Dominican Republic on Feburary 13 and it needs to be filled!!! Needed items include toiletries, cooking utensils, plastic and paper ware, pain relievers, sunscreen, bugspray, flashlights, batteries, and much, much, more. To see where your closest drop-off spot is and how you can help, visit www.indiana.edu/~haiti/donations.shtml.
