On June 14th, 2008, Bloomington’s Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls (BHRG) hosted one of the Cincinnati Rollergirls’ teams in a bout dubbed “Scars and Stripes”, in honor of Flag Day. The Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls all-star team, The Flatliners, took the win 113-65 over Cincinnati’s Silent Lambs. The Flatliners had the home court advantage and a strong desire to take down the Lambs after a devastating loss to their league in Cincinnati last season. The Flatliners’ hard work, diligent training, and the addition of new teammates paid off on the track Saturday night at The Bloomington SportsPlex. The Silent Lambs played a strong game, but were forced to contend with skating four players short of a full roster on an unfamiliar, and very slick, surface. High scoring Jammers of the game were Jungle Lacy of the Silent Lambs, scoring 42 points, and Ka Ka Caliente for the Flatliners with 41 points scored. FN Zebra of the BHRG coaching staff commented, “Although the Lambs were skating short tonight, the teams are a pretty even match. I think it was our home court advantage that made a thirty to forty point difference for us.”

The Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls will play three more bouts at home this season in addition to three away bouts. Upcoming bouts include BHRG Farm Fatales vs. the Chicago Outfit (Chicago, June 28th), BHRG Slaughter Scouts vs. The Rollergirls of Southern Indiana (Evansville, July 12th), and on July 19th the BHRG Flatliners will host Louisville’s Derby City Rollergirls at the Bloomington SportsPlex.
