A lover of music, X Static was never fortunate enough in his younger years to have a working set of speakers. Over time, the hiss and static of the faulty transducers filled his ears until he began to delight in the tones that others find unbearable. Later, his travels took him to Wisconsin, where he wandered into the Dolldome, birthplace of Midwestern roller derby, and found a spot to sit next to a blown out subwoofer. He stuck around until the Mad Rollin’ Dolls offered him a stats job, and he’s never left the track since. After a couple of years, he decided to return to Bloomington to pick up a microphone and help the Bleeding Heartland Flatliners treat southern Indiana to the phenomenon that is flat track roller derby.
