October 10th: Monster Mash Final 2009 Home Bout

Monster Mash-Up 2009Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls shake teams up for a Halloween treat

On October 10, 2009, BHRG will hold the last home game of the 2009 season at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center. This will prove to be an energetic bout, with a spooky flair. BHRG is shaking the teams up, rearranging players into two teams – The Zombies and The Monsters – specially designed for this bout only. For this Halloween-themed game, the rollergirls will be dressed as either zombies or monsters, out for blood, limbs, brains, and points. During half-time, there will be a costume contest featuring prizes for the most outstanding costumes.

Come out to support BHRG in their last home game of the season. Doors open at 6 PM, and the game starts at 7 PM. The Twin Lakes Recreation Center (formerly the Bloomington Sportsplex) is located at 1700 W. Bloomfield Rd. Tickets can be purchased in local businesses such as Bloomingfoods, Be Hair Now, Plan 9, Landlocked, at www.brownpapertickets.com, or from your favorite rollergirl. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Alcohol will be for sale for those of age.

For one last glimpse of BHRG this season, head up to Indianapolis to check out the Flatliners and Code Blue Assassins in a double-header as they take on Indy’s Naptown Rollergirls on November 7 at the Pepsi Coliseum.

  1. On these bout-info posts, I suggest you make a link to a downloadable version of the bout-ad poster, so those of us who would report it to spread the word could have easy access to it.

  2. i would love to, but these are 11″ x 14″ full-color posters, so I’m not sure how easy they would be to reprint. Maybe next year we can have a smaller version of each poster. Thanks for the suggestion, Tenderizer. Although anyone in Bloomington who wants to hang up bout posters, can probably just volunteer to do so and get them from the league.

  3. *grin* I meant having the little image at the top of this post available for download at a size where the text is readable for online posting (not big enough to print — I wouldn’t want to cut into poster sales). The physical posters I do distribute, but sometimes I advertize for you guys online as well, and a readable image might go a long way in terms of eye-catchiness (since your posters rock!). In the meantime I’ll use the little image and re-type the info. B)

  4. If you click on the images in the posts, you should get a larger version that is easier to read. You can right-click that image and save it or copy the image link to use wherever your heart desires :) Thanks for helping to spread the word!
