Name Origin: 38 Special. It’s a revolver cartridge “noted for its fine accuracy and manageable recoil. It is used for target shooting, formal target competition, personal defense, and for hunting small game.” All important items in derby. It’s also a band as Squirrely Shirley often likes to point out. Maybe that’s her favorite band. You should probably go up to her and start singing “Hold On Loosely.” The Sass part? Well, I’m sassy. 
Favorite Part of Roller Derby: Everything. Seriously. Hearing positive feedback from skaters and coaches who I admire. The family I’ve made. Watching a skater do something on the track and think, “I’m gonna learn that,” and then doing it. Derby is a life changer.
Favorite Song to Skate to: 20th Century Boy by TRex
Likes: Positive people, spending time on a lake, whiskey
Dislikes: Dr. Pepper (too many flavors!), selfishness, mushrooms
2012 season goals: Be the best teammate I can. Encourage everyone to be the honey badger and never give up! Oh, and opposite direction stops would probably be useful.
