Why do we need your sponsorship?
Right now, we are bleeding green in our checkbooks, and any bloodshed the Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls endure should be restricted to the rink!
So far, our league has been largely member-funded. Roller derby is an expensive sport - the average cost for a roller girl to participate is around $1,000 a year. Add to this the cost of practice space, bouting space, promotions, and various training and cross-training expenses, and you have a strong case for seeking outside sponsors.
But mere sponsorship is not what we’re looking for - we want to partner with you to make roller derby as much an enriching and recognizable part of Bloomington and Southern Indiana as well as either Indiana University or high school basketball. Yes, we might be thinking big - but roller derby is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and its recent resurgence is making sports as well as women’s history. We can think of few sports that reach as diverse a crowd as does roller derby - and, through our partnership, we’d love to help you reach those audiences.
